Christopher J. Smith has been a practicing attorney in Tampa, Florida since 1989, representing injured workers and disabled individuals throughout Tampa Bay and west central Florida. As a partner at Touby, Chait, Smith & Mora, PL, he brings 35+ years of dedicated advocacy to the firm’s newly expanded practice in Tampa.
Mr. Smith received his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University in 1986 and his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in 1989. He has focused on workers’ compensation law since he began practicing and has been Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Workers’ Compensation Law since 1996.
Mr. Smith has been a member of the Board of Directors of Florida Workers’ Advocates since 2003 and served as president of that organization in 2008–2009 and again in 2018–2019. He has also served on the Executive Council of The Florida Bar’s Workers’ Compensation Section since 2007, chairing the Council in 2013–2014, and was a member of the Rules Advisory Committee of The Florida Bar from 2011–2014. He has spoken at numerous legal conferences throughout his career on a wide range of workers’ compensation topics.
